Position Summary:

The primary role requires data entry skills using a 10-key keyboard and a variety of hand-held scanners to transfer information from a printed page into multiple computer programs with daily deadlines. Other clerical duties as needed, such as batching, scanning, photocopying, and collating. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are a plus. Other occasional tasks include welcoming on-site visitors, determining the nature of business, and announcing visitors to appropriate personnel. Answering incoming telephone calls to determine the purpose of the call, forwarding calls to appropriate personnel or department. Taking and delivering messages or transferring calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable. Answering questions about the organization and providing callers with addresses, directions, and other information. Retrieving messages from voice mail and forwarding them to appropriate personnel. Receiving, sorting, and routing mail, and maintaining and routing publications. Sending and retrieving, and routing incoming faxes on a very occasional basis. Ordering, receiving, and maintaining office supplies.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Operates computer, copiers, fax machines.

  • Calls for repairs to office equipment.

  • Opens and distributes incoming mail, answers correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail.

  • Greets and assists visitors.

  • Gives information to customers.

  • Purchases office supplies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • One to three months of related experience and/or training

  • Ability to read, write, and fluently speak the English language. Ability to read and comprehend concepts of moderate to high difficulty and ability to communicate responses and actions related to these concepts.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Effective communication skills, which include verbal and written

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office

  • Willingness to learn proprietary programs (Metalware and CMES)

  • The ability to generate graphic representations of data is required.

  • Ability to pass a math test requiring basic functions
